I always worry when I see the word "brigade". If there's one thing you can say about members of the Left it's that it can't agree on anything. Those on the Right, on the other hand, are indistuibguishable from each other.

Anarchist Youth and the Indymedia brigade may not have the same amount of access to the airwaves but they do seem to have a large influence over a certain section of youth, mainly middle-class students looking for a way to rebel against the Mammies and Daddies who pay for their education. The bleedin' cads also blight walls and lamp-posts with their unsightly posters just as much, if not more so than Coir have . Certainly a good cause for a rant IMHO. Although seeing as you're the site-master it's entirely up to you of course.:-)

I'm an equal-opportunity ranter. If Anarchist Youth had any political influence or the same access to RTÉ, I'd be shouting about them too. A nutcase is a nutcase, whatever clothes they happen to be wearing.

You seem to enjoy writing articles giving out about the "raving right" such as Coir, Youth Defence etc. How come there's so few articles giving out about the "loony left" such as Anarchist Youth, AFA Ireland and the Mayday/Reclaim the street protestors? Do you have vested interests? ;-)

Come on now Bock, you're a bit long in the tooth to fall for that line. We both know that all of the above would be true until you decide you want to have your own opinion on things, something you have an unhealthy habit of doing, and then you're no longer in the "Enlightened Club" anymore. I'm sure there was more than one "Liberal" who passed by to pass judgement during the great and terrible "Misogynist" Conflict of 2008. If I may use an example to illustrate my point "Fianna Fáil adheres to the great democratic principle of government of the people, by the people and for the people. The party’s name incorporates the words ‘The Republican Party’ in its title. Republican here stands both for the unity of the island and a commitment to the historic principles of European republican philosophy, namely liberty, equality and fraternity." Hmmm.....

Youth Defence are one dangerous bunch of crazies who would quite happily fling you in a cell if they had the power. They ally themselves to the extreme fringes of European politics, and aren't a million miles from the neo-Nazi movement.

Did you not get it? These are satirical representations of posters put up by a lunatic fringe group (for fun….a joke, geddit). Not our view of the Netherlands, just some humour to lighten up what was becoming a bitter debate here on Lisbon and show up the lies that were being put about by this organisation.

Having said that, I wouldn't mind at all if Irish kids grew up like many Dutch kids do. Speaking several European languages confidently, technically gifted, an inbuilt work-ethic and world-class soccer players.

btw, if you want to point fingers at anyone for Bloody Sunday, point them in the direction of London, will you? It was the British Army who fired on, and killed 14 innocent and unarmed civilians that day.
