That's a good focus to have BOCK, after all, every politician in Ireland has great dynamism in them so that must be why we have no problems in this country.

Or maybe it's something else they have in them!

Bock, there may still be hope for you.

I don't know how much tongue in cheek this post is, but since I appreciate your blog, here are some thoughts and suggestions...

Most of those things you wish you could be or do, you could still be or do them even if you get up late. Dynamism doesn't necessarily depend on early rising, although it helps. Just have them schedule the surgery or the space flight for after noon. And if it's your bank, you can have somebody else open up for those bothersome account holders who want to take their money out early.

More than that, it's not only a question of when you get UP, but when you go to SLEEP, and how MUCH you sleep. If you sleep 8 hours (a lot can be dynamically done in the other 16), all you have to do is go to sleep at 10pm, and you're up with the early birds at 6! Unless you're doing something really important late at night...

Speaking of the birds - notice that Shakespeare said that "That time of year...where late the sweet birds sang" - from his description, it's obviously Autumn. But that must mean that during other times of the year it's different - the sun rises earlier, and so do the birds (and so can you).

And of all days that you wish you could get up earlier, why Saturday? Take a break - sleep in - you (can) get up early all week! "Six days shall thou work..."

And finally, maybe you're doing more to save the world with this blog than if you did any of those other things. Maybe what you write, besides having obvious entertainment and thought-provoking value, inspires others to go out and do some of those other things you think are important. Kind of like the Muslim clerics that tell other to blow themselves up for salvation (OK - not exactly like that). Why don't you do a survey, asking you readers who has been inspired like that?

Try it at least once to wake up before sunrise and watch the day light up. You'll be a different person (at least on that day).

And stop talking to Jesus so much - can make a person want to sleep in even more..
