You have to be careful about making comparisons, but I can see echoes of Campese in the sense that Earls seems to have an instinctive ability to anticipate the flow of the game. He seems to be more solid in defence though, and I hope he won't be as big a fucking loudmouth.

Wardy also comes to mind, with all the jinking and dodging, and again an instinctual natural ability.

Blanco? Perhaps. The problem about Blanco is that he's such a legend and Keith is still only 21, so these comparisons are a big burden to place on him. Also, I wouldn't want to see him smoking forty cigarettes a day like Blanco.

I agree with you on that point, O'Driscoll, Shane Williams,and from an earlier era Ward,and the great Philip Sela. I almost forgot Blanco. Campo from Australia I'll stop now.

Fan — We'll see, if the time comes. Now that the world recession is starting to bite, I might not be able to afford the trip anyway, and besides, it hardly matters what I do. If we're going to win, we'll win whether I attend the game or not.

What I meant with the Geoghegan/Earls comparison is the sense of excitement when he gets the ball. You start to think, Jesus, anything could happen here.

I Hope you get your tickets,I was there on Saturday night and it is a sight to behold. The atmosphere was a little edgy,but I would put it down to nerves,(among the crowd not the team) everyone I spoke to were anxious that we got a good start. Hopefully with the first game out of the way,it will surpass, if it is possible the old ground.You can notice the increase in the volume of noise already.
Young Earls is the real deal, he has fitted into the first team and seems to be of equal skill as those around him. which is saying something when you look at who they are. He has got Geoghegan's speed, but is a far better all round player.
For fuck sake if we get to the final go,I was at the two we lost and you wouldn't want a jinks to be making up the numbers.
