No, they may title themselves as that, but I don't. I cannot think of one decision the so called leader of the free world has made that has affected me, recently.

It's lazy to use the free world analogy, it's like Ireland claiming dominion over education because we market ourselves as the land of saints and scholars.

Point is, the election doesn't matter, nor does hyper-critical essaying.

And that is also true of issues like the credit crunch, solutions for the credit crunch. Just saying all political power is cuntish without offering a creditable alternative (and for the record, Obama is a somewhat preferable but not entitrely creditable alternative) is pandering.

You will get plenty of people to agree with you, but then George Bush got a fair few people to agree with him too (not a majority, but enough plus some good lawyers, to get elected)

I'm a liberal, a Democrat (were I to live in the US) and an admirer of JFK.

But let us not forget that Joe Kennedy bought the 1960 election for his son, and that could have been Joe Jnr but for his premature death.

I want Obama to win because I am sick of the GOP, but to pretend that it will make a difference other than some democrat sucking on the Big Oil / Wall St cock instead of a Republican is ridiculous.

Sarah Palin believes the world was created about an hour and a half ago. Obama believes that some carpenter was the son of some imaginary guy in the sky. It's splitting hairs. They are both idiots, so choosing one idiot over another is like betting on leper arm-wrestling, sooner or later it all falls apart.

How anyone can invest so much vicarious emotion in whether one idiot or another gets elected is ludicrous.

George Bush, a functional illiterate / retard was in power for 8 years (8 years too long) and what was the net effect on us, nothing, zero, nada. In fact his corporation-whoring tax strategy actually benefitted us in that it encouraged US companies to outsource jobs abroad (Dell, AT & T, Wyeth Chemicals etc)

Nothing is as simple as some may make it appear, and no amount of faux-indignation should mask that fact.

I support Obama, because two or three elections down the line it might encourage Americans to choose wisely as opposed to what Fox tell them, but this reverse-jingoism just chaffs my balls a little

And to think they didn't win after that. There's no justice.
