It's a totally lame movie by the way but it did give a glimpse into the delusion of W and how that was achieved. The writing of the movie is very corny as in "let me talk to you while adding lots of detail that you should know since you were there but people watching this movie need all the background information so bear with me" , Condi Rice is like an SNL sketch and Rove is just not evil enough for me. But Cheney seems about right. I went to see W (the movie, not the chimp) last week. It's a totally lame movie by the way but it did give a glimpse into the delusion of W and how that was achieved.

The Iraq war was about making money for Halliburton, and they continue to make piles of it. However, I agree with Gellmann that it was also about sending a message to anyone who challenged the neocons. <i>Don't you fucking dare disagree with us or we'll bring you peace and democracy like we did to Iraq!</i> Cheney is up to his neck in Halliburton. It didn't seem so damning in the auther's discription. He said how Cheney didn't take a whole bunch of profit that he was intitled to, because of the conflict of interests. He made the same apologist comment about Cheney just being some one of very strong principles, who sincerely believes in what he is doing, but who would resort to <i>lying</i> to get it done. Wow, lying. That's bad. Not conspiring to pervert the constitution, not with war profiteering or war crimes. Lying. And his damnig book comes out just as Cheneys eight years of office come to an end. I guess it all seems a little "show trial" to me. But I suppose we'll have to read the book to find out how indicting of Cheney it reaally is. I heard him on the radio this morning.
